How to activate show hidden files and folder forcely in Windows XP

Windows Xp problem/error :

Case Study: i was trying to see hidden files and folders in my directory

by choosing ‘Tools->Folder Option->View-> o Show hidden files and folders ‘

from menu bar. But this option had no effect on the folder.

So i checked the option again and saw that the option didnt changed .

Problem: How can i activate the “show hidden files and folders” ?

Solution:
1. Go to Start –> Run, then type Regedit

2. Navigate to the registry folder :


HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOW ALL

3. Find a key called CheckedValue.

4. Double Click CheckedValue key and modify it to 1.

Done.
